Not as Effective as One Might Think Jun 25, 2009 I bought this because I wanted a cost effective and efficient alternative to my regular nail clippers (which take over 5 minutes for one hand). These do accomplish the task more expediently, but I'm afraid they lack the precision required to be truly effective. The other day, I decided to trim my toenails before heading out for work. I got out my trimmer and started it up and it only took about 2 seconds for each foot. At first, I thought that it was a satisfying product, but, later, as the blood seeped out my shoes and onto the office room floor, garnering puzzled and concerned looks from my coworkers, I thought that, perhaps, this product is not exactly what I'm looking for.
On the other hand, I have not had to trim my toenails again since then. The cuticles no longer exist.
This tool should probably only be used for tasks which don't require quite as much precision, such as haircuts.
Piece of crap Jun 24, 2009 I guess the title says it all. Except for the motor and blade the whole thing is made of plastic. If it doesn't feel like starting be prepared for a heart attack trying to start it. The choke is in a bad location and will shut itself off, again making it a bear to start.
Mine is 3 years old but considering I only use it 3 times a year after 9 shots it is worthless. I took it to a small engine repair shop and he said the head was blown and could not be repaired; he also informed me the life expectancy on these units is about 50 hours. I wanted a Honda 4 stroke but I am not about to pay over 800 bucks for a hedge trimmer. I got their little rototiller though. Damn good I must say.
Anyway I bought the Black & Decker 24 in electric. I am back to the "umbilical cord".

Not a bad piece for "Harry Homeowner". May 08, 2009 This is great for very small twigs and weeds. It struggles on small shrubs like holly bushes. The cutting teeth are designed for smaller use and doesn't allow for limbs closer to or around 1/2 inch. Great if you stick to cutting No.2 pencil sized or smaller. I was displeased as my use required slightly bigger.

Too Flimsey Dec 06, 2008 I read the manual which said something to the effect that I should receive about 100 hours of use from this trimmer. Well, I didn't get quite that. After two years of use, the screws securing the blade to the body fell out, and the trimmer is now in the trash. The plastic threads in the body are stripped.
I like the weight of the trimmer compared to a 14 lb commercial model. I'm buying an entry level Tanaka that weighs 9 lb, and costs $100 more than the unit that failed.

weed eater gas hedge trimmer Sep 19, 2008 For the price it can't be beat. It works well. The only problems is the size of the bush branch it can take down, and how hot the system gets. But it is good for its size in cutting hedges, and allows you to get an nice even trim, if the bush branch size is not to large. Overall I would recommend this product for someone looking for an affordable trimmer that does a good job.
